spray paint, acrylic paint and charcoal on wooden board.
This piece of work is inspired by an other piece I did for my specialist techniques last year. It was originally going to be a copy of the previous work using different media but as I created it, it changed or my idea changed. I painted the face first then I sprayed the spray paint around it, close to the canvas so it would run. I then then flicked acrylic paint on top. I began to add charcoal around the face but not all the paint was dry so some of the spray paint peeled of. I added more definition with charcoal when it was dry. I think the finished painting looks a bit street arty, and I really like the definition added by the charcoal.
Self portrait.
acrylic paint, ink and spray paint on sketch book cover.
I didn't really have any thing else thick enough to paint on so I took the cover off an old sketch book. I put quite a few layers of paint on before I painted then face, I was trying to billed up a good background but it ended up being all covered. I painted some of the face using a small sponge which worked quite well. I do feel that the face could be a lot better and I will need to work on it.
